Wave 4
SHARE returned in wave 4 to the longitudinal design employing the same questionnaire as in wave 2 in order to assess the changes in life circumstances of the respondents as they age.
Wave 4 introduced several areas of innovation, e.g. a social networks module using a name generator.
Moreover, four new countries joined SHARE to conduct their baseline interviews and become new members of the longitudinal infrastructure (Estonia, Hungary, Portugal, and Slovenia). A fifth new country, Luxembourg, joined for pilot and pre-test only.
