Introduction:
In 2017, the main data collection of Wave 7 took place in 28 countries - full coverage of the EU was achieved by including 8 new countries in SHARE: Finland, Lithuania, Latvia, Slovakia, Romania, Bulgaria, Malta and Cyprus. The Wave 7 questionnaire contains a SHARELIFE questionnaire for all respondents who did not participate in Wave 3 (first SHARELIFE wave), as well as a regular panel questionnaire for all respondents who already answered a SHARELIFE interview. SHARELIFE focuses on people's life histories including all the important areas of respondents’ lives, ranging from partners and children to housing and work history to detailed questions on health and health care. Respondents who were invited to do the SHARELIFE interview also received a condensed set of questions from the regular panel questionnaire to maintain the panel dimension for key respondent characteristics.
The below listed documents “Moduleflow Wave 7” and “Who gets which question in SHARE Wave 7” further explain the questionnaire structure.
