Call for Papers: US-European workshop on “Ageing and Health”
Submit your abstracts or full papers until February 5, 2018.
The Max Planck Institute for Social Law and Social Policy (where SHARE is coordinated) in Munich, Germany, and the National Bureau of Economic Research (NBER) are pleased to announce a US-European workshop on “Ageing and Health.”
The workshop aims to facilitate the networking of both young and senior scientists and to promote the exchange of research ideas in the economics of ageing, health, and health care. In particular, the workshop welcomes empirical contributions on health, physical, and cognitive functioning and their association with labor market and broader socioeconomic status; work disability; retirement choices such as savings and labor supply, health, longevity and well-being; and long-term care.
To provide a conducive environment for the exchange of ideas, the workshop is limited to a small number of presenters and discussants.
Participants are expected to attend the entire workshop, which will be hosted by the Max Planck Institute in Munich from the morning of June 7th to mid-afternoon June 8th.
The Max Planck Institute will generously cover the cost of accommodations, and with the NBER an economy-class advance-purchase airfare for one author per paper.
The deadline for submitting detailed abstracts or full papers (in PDF format) is 5 February 2018. Submissions may be uploaded HERE.
The conference organizers welcome submissions of both empirical and theoretical research, and encourage submissions by scholars who are early in their careers, who are not NBER affiliates, and who are from groups that are underrepresented in the economics profession. Papers already accepted for publication and that will be published by June 2018 are not eligible for presentation.
Authors of accepted papers will be notified by 16 February 2018. Please direct any questions to confer@nber.org.
