Job Offer

Research Associate (m/f/d) at the SHARE BERLIN Institute

Would you like to support science and research? Welcome to the SHARE BERLIN Institute GmbH (non-profit).

Since its launch in 2004, the Survey of Health, Ageing and Retirement in Europe (SHARE) has been collecting and analysing socio-economic and biomedical life course data of around 140,000 Europeans aged 50 and over and providing internationally comparable longitudinal microdata for scientific research. The SHARE BERLIN Institute GmbH, founded in 2022, aims to provide a permanent home for the central coordination of SHARE and its associated research in Berlin, Germany.

The term publication bias refers to a mechanism whereby the (non-)publication of study results depends on their direction or strength. For example, it can be shown that statistically significant results are more likely to be published than statistically non-significant results. Publication bias therefore prevents an assessment of the true state of knowledge on a particular research question, which can lead to scientific debates and policy decisions being based on biased or even incorrect results.
